Okay, so this is my very first blog!
As you all know, I'm the co-op student at the studio and so I'm learning all the tricks to taking great portraits. Rob has gotten me involved in all aspects of photography. We've gone from portrait sessions to finishing touches, albums and frames.
My dad had won an award from work and he wanted Rob to take a portrait of him for an article in the paper. He was curious about where I was working but I guess he had a pretty good excuse for checking it out. I got to help finish the portrait and when it came out in the paper, it looked great. It's hanging on our fridge now.
The Easter portrait sessions were really interesting and an awesome experience. I helped keep the bunnies in order since they don't always like to stay still. I loved seeing the kids' reactions when they would see the bunnies. The portraits always turned out so adorable!
Rob invited me to go to Cheryl and Wade's wedding so that I could experience wedding photography. I learned a lot from it and the wedding party was a fun group to work with.
I took a yearbook course at school and because my teacher knows that I'm working at the studio, she looks to me for taking a lot of the portraits at school. It's pretty exciting to have someone depend on my photography skills and the independence builds my confidence for this field.
I'm almost halfway through my semester and it seems to have gone by so fast! But, when I look back at what I've learned so far, wow, it's a lot more than I could have expected! I'm having a lot of fun learning here at the studio and it's opening up a lot more ideas for my future.
