I had the pleasure of creating a portrait of Don and Norma Brown for Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, in Stoney Creek this month to mark a very special birthday of the original owner Don Brown. This portrait was to celebrate Don’s 85th birthday and the celebration of 58 years of business in Stoney Creek. I first meet Mr. and Mrs. Brown, when we opened our studio on King St. in Stoney Creek. I was commissioned to create a portrait of the two grandchildren Amy and Julie. The portrait was created on the top half of the funeral home, which at the time was their living room. It is a beautiful old building, which has many years of tender love and care put into it. The Brown Funeral Home is one of Lake Avenues finer jewels. Julie has followed in her Grandfather’s footsteps as a funeral director, along with her father Craig and husband Tyson. Together they continue to provide the local area with honesty, compassion and professionalism for families in need at their time of loss.
I am proud to have had the opportunity to be part of the Brown family history over the many years we have worked together.
