Towards the end of October we held our 5th annual Halloween for Hunger event, in support of the Stoney Creek Food Bank. It was a fantastic event! With the help of clients and many people from the community we were able to raise just under 700 pounds of food for our local food bank! Every year I tell my staff and multiple volunteers that I hope to do better than the previous year. This year was by far our best year to date. We had a tremendous response and a really great day. Seeing all the smiles on the children’s faces, in their amazing costumes as they experienced our event was a wonderful feeling. It was also a lovely reward to see our community come together to donate such a large amount of food!
Every year my local Rotary Club of Stoney Creek, steps forward to help with this wonderful event! Without their help and members participations on the day, we wouldn’t be able to make it as memorable for all the children. Like previous years, our club gave back in a huge way. Phil has been making balloon animals for a couple of years now and the children really LOVE it! Our clubs president also had her daughter, Taylor (Wonder Woman) help out and her enthusiasm and connection with the children were beyond amazing. Nathan, from our club was also a huge help in running around on the day of event and filling in wherever he was needed. Getting the studio ready for the event, takes several weeks! This could not be done without the help of my family that puts so much effort and hard work. Heidi, that works at the studio also, is another huge supporter of the event. Heidi plays an integral part of the organization, packaging of gift boxes and helping out on the day of the event.
I am blessed to have so many great clients that come out each year and help out with the donation of food. I am always grateful for the clients that drop by the studio to donate food and no longer have children young enough to participate. I am also grateful for the many people from the community that we are meeting for the first time and want to help out.
And I can't forget the business’s like Baby's World and Once Upon A Child that helps spread the word in their stores. This makes it truly a great community event. I have included some of the photos from our day; I hope you enjoy.
