Just added a new sample portrait to the studio. Deciding on the correct frame for the style of the portrait is extremely important in determining the final feel and look of your portrait. Many factors have to be considered when deciding which frame will accent and complete the finishing of your portraits. Some of the considerations to take into account are the size of the portrait, the location and feel of the room it will be displayed in, the feeling that you wish to convey to the viewer, as well as whether the portrait is masculine or feminine in nature just to name a few. By framing your portraits with the latest archival standards in the framing and museum industry you will be preserving your portraits for you and future generations to enjoy.
Here at the studio we not only provide families with beautiful portraits but also with professional framing and matting. Framing is the perfect way to add those finishing touches and really make your portraits the centerpiece of your home. By matting your portraits it adds an even more refined finish. Mats enhance any and every portrait as well as lengthen the life of your portrait. By having your portrait both matted and framed it is sure to be one of the first things people will notice when they enter your home. The studio offers a large variety of both frames and mats that can compliment any room and decor in your home or office. Our studio provides in house framing and matting to ensure our clients receive the highest quality finish that we can offer. It is important to keep in mind that not all mats and frames are created equal and that is why our studio only uses acid-free, museum quality mats to not only enhance your portrait, but to also increase the longevity of your portrait. We also only use wooden frames and no plastic to avoid future problems that plastic frames generally create.
It has been an exciting time at the studio, between Easter and First Communion portraits, there is some exciting news. We have been voted Best Photography Studio and Best Photographer. We strive hard at the studio to meet and exceed our clients needs and desires every day. It is because of our great clients and their desire to have unique and creative portraits, that we are able to work towards these goals. Our goal is always to craft portraits that last longer and stand out from the crowd and be recognized in the community.
Thank you for your confidence and vote.
Every year we hear from our clients and people we talk to about portraits how hard it is to get the whole family together. The kids are away at university or college and don't get home that much. Or the kids are involved in sports and we are always going from venue to venue to keep up with the schedules. The reasons seem to be endless.
We heard what you are saying and this year we have put together some special days between Christmas and New Years to help you get that portrait done you have always wanted to do. We know that the holidays is a time for families to come together and we know that a lot of your families will be together at this time. These appointments will fill up quickly as people realize that we will not be closed for the whole holidays between Christmas and New Years, so call as soon as possible to discuss your portrait and make that family portrait wish come true this Christmas.
We look forward to hearing from you and being part of this special time of the year with you and your family.
Robert Wells Studio of Photography and The Rotary Club of Stoney Creek welcomed their THIRD ANNUAL Halloween for Hunger, this past Saturday October 27th, 2012. Halloween for Hunger supports the local Stoney Creek Food Bank, and yet again it was a great success. We saw many little trick or treaters pass through the studio, ready to have their picture taken in the pumpkin patch and receive their candy treats. Today Robert Wells and Norm Watson (President of the Rotary Club of Stoney Creek) dropped off the hundreds of non-perishable food items and a cheque for $1000.00 to the food bank. Overall, the fundraiser was an amazing success like usual, and it was lovely to see all the little children in their costumes excited to help a good cause. It is through the generous support of all the families that came out to support the event that we are able to take a bite out of hunger. I look forward to next year and making this event an even larger success.
Thank you
Robert
It is almost here Sat. October 30th. and I am so excited. We have been having a great response to our Halloween for Hunger event that will be held at the studio to help support the Stoney Creek Food Bank. We have teamed up with The Rotary Club of Stoney Creek to take a bite out of hunger this year. We are expecting a lot of children on Sat. all dressed up in their halloween costumes to be coming to the studio for a photograph in our pumpkin patch. With the donation of 5 non perishable food items they will receive a 3.5x5 photo of the child and a treat for each of the children. We will be dressed up in our halloween costumes and look forward to seeing all the different costumes the children will be wearing. Famlies will also have the opportunity to purchase special packages for gifts for grandparents and family of the children and 50% of the proceeds will also go to the food bank. The packages will range in price from $20.00 to $30.00 taxes included and must be purchased and paid for the day of the event.
We live and do business in such a great and supportive community and look forward to helping the Stoney Creek Food Bank this year. If you know of a family that you think would enjoy the opportunity to have their little one photographed in the pumpkin patch and help support the food bank, please let them know about our event.
I look forward to seeing you on Sat.

October is here already and I don't know where the year has gone, but we are coming into my favorite time of the year, Fall. I love when the leaves change and the weather gets a little cooler. This such a great month for weddings. You have all the excitement of the wedding day and the great fall colors to add to the mix of opportunities on the day for great photography and a great wedding.
We will be at the Hamilton-Niagara Fall Bridal Show on October 3rd. and 4th. at the Hamilton Convention Centre this weekend. We are very excited to introduce our new Italian made art books at the show. We will have two new albums, one being an all black and white photography album. This is something that we have wanted to do for some time but just could not find the right album to show case. But we have found the right album with our new supplier and we are so excited to launch it at the show.
With over 120 exhibitors to see you will have lots to look at. If you are getting married next year and looking for wedding photography drop by our booth, we would love to talk to you about your wedding. Or if you know someone who is getting married let them know about the show, better yet come along with them and enjoy the day.
Hope to see you at the show.
Our journey on the road to redesigning our new web site is coming to a end. We realized that the old site needed to be update to reflect the changes at the studio. A new logo, a different color scheme and the new look of our portrait studio that is taking place at the studio now. New features have been added to the site to give more information on the services we provide and information you may need. I am happy to say that we have launched our new site. This new look will reflect the changes that are taking place at the studio at this moment regarding studio decor. We are presently redoing our indoor photography studio with new hardwood floors and sets to reflect the change in the decors of peoples homes. This way we can create portraits that will reflect to days decor and styles so your new portrait will look great.
We have added more information for our visitors and updated samples of the style of portraits that we are creating at the studio and out in the community. As the renovations of the new photography studio are completed we will add new samples to the web site to reflect these changes.
Please have a look at the new web site, I think you will enjoy the experience, I know we had a great time putting together all the ideas from clients and the people at the studio to redesign this site. Please follow the link if you would like to have a look: www.robertwellsphotography.com

Fifteen years ago when we purchased the studio property, one of my dreams and goals was to have our own outdoor photography gardens to allow our clients something different and convenient for creating outdoor portraits. At the time we purchased the property, we had no trees or garden to speak of on the property. I thought the day would never come when everything would finally grow in and become mature.
Over the years we have added new area's for the photography and new sets to use in the garden, and now I am finding myself having to trim back some of the trees I thought would never get large enough, fast enough.
This year we added another photography area and I am excited to use it for creating great children's portraits for our clients. It seemed like a lot of hard work and and back breaking slugging to bring all the stone and topsoil into the yard without playing havoc with the rest of the gardens. But we have finally completed it,and my back is finally back to normal, I think.
The great thing about our garden is we designed it with our clients in mind and for creating portraits. It is totally fenced in so we can have the family pet in your portrait and you do not have to worry about them running away and getting hit by a car or going for a long run and having to chase them around a park. Also it is very private with all the park benches and chairs we need to create a relaxing or formal family portrait for you. And the lawn is always green and weed free due to the constant watering, no more burnt grass in the middle of summer as we would experience in many of the local parks. The studio change room and bathroom is only steps away, so you can check your hair and adjust your makeup or change your cloths and it is very convenient.
I have included some examples of some of the area's we have for portraits, I think you will enjoy, I know all our clients that have used the garden, say how much they enjoyed the experience and love the idea of the outdoor photography garden. I look forward to creating a special portrait for you in our outdoor garden!
